How To Get Rid Of Pincher Bugs

Pincher bugs are quite fond of oils like olive oil or vegetable oil. Surely you must have a stock of this in the house. Now fill up that disposable plastic container with about 2 inches or so of the oil that you have. Now place the container at a place where you frequently see pincher bugs or earwigs. Leave it there overnight. If there are pincher bugs in the house, the next morning you will find your disposable plastic container full of pincher bugs drowned in oil. Now put the container in a plastic bag and leave it out with the garbage. If you still find pincher bugs around the house, repeat the trapping actions till you are satisfied that you have got rid of the infestation.

Facts About Pincher Bugs You Should Know

Pincher bugs or earwigs have gained that name because of the supposed belief that they crawl into the ears of human beings. Such instances are very rare though not completely unknown. You are more likely to find pincher bugs outside homes near foundations, but to keep them away from the house you need to keep your yard clean and see that there are no places for the bugs to hide in, during the day time.

Everything You Wanted To Know About Pincher Bugs

Pincher bugs are nothing but earwigs. The term pincher is used because of the pinchers or appendages that are like forceps that come out of the back of their abdomen. The pinchers look formidable and most people fear them under the impression that the insect can use these appendages or pinchers to bite. But in truth the pinchers are mainly used by the pincher bug or ear wig to hold its prey and never for any form of offense. Pincher bugs are mainly scavengers and feed on dead animal and plant material and need to hold on to this when they are feeding on them. This is when the pinchers are used. Some species of pincher bugs will also feed on live plants and if you have such a variety in your garden you would do well to get rid of them so that your plants can prosper. Pincher bugs are active after dark and in the daytime would hide under rocks, boards or small crevices.p
